Birdbath--better

But not perfect. It is functional again and the birds probably won't mind that the top doesn't quite match the base.

I think it turned out nice. But you're right--not nearly as pretty as the original. Do you remember Dad's birdbath? Made of cement and big enough for condors to bath in. Your birdbath is sweet.

Not only will the birds not mind, but by the time the winter rains and sog is over, the moss will cover so much of the top that it will look entirely at home. This home, that is, the Pacific Northwest.

    Nice job. June

  3. Ha, ha! Becky, of course I remember the big, honkin' birdbath thing-y Dad drug home! Remember Mom finally filled it with dirt and planted it with petunias.

I read recently that birds can actually drown in birdbaths that are too deep.

  4. I have a winter birdbath which consists of a wooden frame holding an aluminum roasting pan. A birdbath heater fits inside for those frosty mornings in NJ. Or would if I could find the one I bought last year on sale! The birds love a heated bird bath and I love the birds.
